Spanish Deals for Little Princess

MUNICH/LONDON, January 8:
TV-Loonland has secured a number of deals across Spain for its animated series Little
Princess
, produced by The
Illuminated Film Company.

Free-TV rights for the
series were licensed to TVE, while Cartoon Network Spain picked up the pay-TV
rights. A home-entertainment deal was inked with Big Picture Entertainment,
which plans to release the first Little Princess DVD in August/September 2009.

Following on the
publishing success of the property in the U.K., Germany and other markets, a
Spanish publishing program will be launched this year. Among the first deals
secured is Random House, which picked up the rights for TV tie-in books. Other
publishing partners will be announced shortly.

Implementing a licensing
program for Little Princess in
the region is also a priority, and TV-Loonland has appointed El Ocho Licencias
y Promociones to head up these efforts. Initial product launches are slated for
fall 2009, with previews early this year.

Justine Bannister, the
head of international distribution and acquisitions at TV-Loonland, said:
"We are thrilled to be teaming up with such as strong lineup of partners
in making the Little Princess brand
as successful in Spain as it has been in so many other territories thus far.
Given the expected broadcaster support and the proven track record of our
partners, we are confident that Little Princess will be on everyone's lips in Spain for 2009, and
many years to come!"
