Terra Unveils New Portal

SÃO PAULO, January 7: The Latin American Internet company Terra has launched Atom, its new portal housing an assortment of professional and user-generated content, alongside social-networking tools.

According to Fernando Madeira, the general director of Terra for Latin America, Atom, found at www.terra.com.br, "is the seed for the portal of the future." Its development involved 400 Terra employees and about 300 design and Internet experts. "The entire project is based on creating the best experience for the users, through the multiplatform offering of content and social tools. Every 7th of the month will be a day of innovation for the company and for the Latin American market," with new features being added to the destination.

The site enables users to access videos, photos and news, share that content with others and chat with other users.

Terra is active in 18 countries, with approximately 60 million unique visitors per month.
