Pinky and Perky Holiday Special to Air on CBBC

LONDON, December 17: A
Christmas-themed special for The Pinky and Perky Show will screen four times on CBBC over the holidays,
as well as on Christmas day on BBC One in a 10 a.m. slot.

The CGI series features a
pair of piglet brothers who have been given their own live TV show. The special
follows as Pinky and Perky discover that they forgot to send the Christmas
lists of those who work at their station off to Santa. With the crew left in a
foul mood, the duo must come up with a plan to spread the holiday spirit.

The show premiered on CBBC
on November 3, and is also set for France
3 and ABC in Australia next year, with other sales confirmed in the Nordics. A
Nintendo DS game is slated to hit stores around Easter time next year, and
Martin Yaffe International will be developing toys and merchandise for boys
aged 5 to 9. Several other licensees are in discussion for product launches
throughout 2009, leading up to a Pinky and Perky Christmas range.

Mark
Hurry, the legal and commercial director for PPCE, which holds the
merchandising and licensing rights for the brand, said: "The Pinky and
Perky Show

has been a huge hit already and this has been reflected in a surge of interest
from potential licensees—the brand presents a fantastic merchandising
opportunity and I anticipate plenty of activity in the near future."
