New Fox Reality Series Puts Spotlight on Stay-At-Home Husbands

LOS ANGELES, December 17: Househusbands
of Hollywood
has been given the
go-ahead by Fox Reality Channel for nine hour-long episodes, slated to premiere
in August 2009.

The original series looks
at Hollywood families in which the wives are the ones supporting the household.
The show's concept was developed out of the experiences of actor/screenwriter
Charlie Mattera, who is married to a prominent psychologist. Mattera also
serves as an executive producer and is the co-creator of the series. Househusbands
of Hollywood
is produced by
Marilyn Wilson Productions, with Marilyn Wilson, Lisa Bernstein and Scooter
Pietsch also serving as executive producers and co-creators.

"Househusbands of
Hollywood
introduces audiences to
a shifting dynamic happening within households," said Bob Boden, the
senior VP of programming, production and development for Fox Reality Channel.
"The husbands each have varied perspectives on their current lifestyle.
The one common element they share is they're not the ones bringing home the big
paycheck."

Mattera will appear as one
of the husbands in the series, along with Billy Ashley, a former baseball
player for the Los Angeles Dodgers who is married to a successful celebrity
makeup artist; aspiring actor Danny Barclay and his wife who is a high-powered
Hollywood attorney; Darryl M. Bell, husband of The Cosby Show's Tempestt Bledsoe; and former Marine Corps sniper
Grant Reynolds, husband of Jillian Reynolds of FOX NFL Sunday and Good Day LA.

"We're thrilled to be
working with Fox Reality Channel to bring viewers this fascinating look into
the lives of stay-at-home men," said Wilson. "With our current
economic situation, we think people all across America will be able relate to
these non-traditional family arrangements. Plus, our househusbands and their
wives all have incredible stories to tell about their relationships, families,
careers and life as they know it in Hollywood."
