Russia's Studio U7 Closes Raft of Deals

EKATERINBURG,
December 3: Russian distributor Studio U7 has finalized a number of post-MIPCOM
agreements, including a package of titles being bought up by pan-Siberian state broadcaster Yamal-Region.

The deal included 326
hours of programming such as Glutton for
Punishment
(Filmoption and Paperny Films) and Talk to the Animals (WTFN Entertainment and Octapixx Worldwide), as well as Ultimate Thrill Rides(APT
Worldwide).

In Russia, Zvezda picked up four documentary series, including
Geologic Journey (CBC Canada) and Fit for the Wild (Off the Fence). Kultura bought Ancient Mega Structures (Parthenon Entertainment), while Red Media acquired 125 hours of programming, including travel doc series World Around Us (Creo Contents Korea) and America's Wild & Wacky(Smithsonian Networks and
Off the Fence). Russian
satellite-cable channels Teletravel and
Zoo purchased 41 hours and 66
hours, respectively, including Humanimal (Marathon and Mona Lisa Production) and Fantastic Festivals of the World (Marc Pingry
Productions). Amazing Life took
on 93 hours of the programming such
as Electric Sky's Vertical City, How the Best Is Done and Treasure Divers (Rainbow Media and ID Distribution). Stream TV bagged 66 hours for channels Ohota i Rybalka (Hunt & Fishing) and Usadba (Farmstead), including
Canada in the Rough (Dancing Buffalo Productions and Canamedia) andFlower Power (Summerhill).

Latvian
national broadcaster Laisvas ir nepriklausomas
kanalas
(LNK) took on 56 hours, including
hybrid program The Most Extreme… by NHNZ and Off the Fence.
