Jennifer Lopez in First-Look Deal with NBCU

UNIVERSAL CITY, October
30: Universal Media Studios has signed a two-year exclusive first-look TV
development deal with Jennifer Lopez and her company, Nuyorican Productions,
which she runs with producing partner Simon Fields.

The deal will focus on
creating a variety of different TV projects. Nuyorican, founded in 2003 by
Lopez and Fields, has produced a number of projects, including Shall We Dance, Bordertown, El Cantante and
Feel the Noise, as well as the TV
series South Beach and Dancelife, among others. Most recently,
the company sold the projects Maid in
Manhattan
to ABC and Amigas to
Disney.

"Jennifer
Lopez is a multi-faceted superstar and we are thrilled to be in business with
her," said Ben Silverman, the co-chairman of NBC Entertainment and
Universal Media Studios. "NBC has been fortunate to have worked with her
previously with her music specials, and now this first-look deal gives us an
opportunity to explore a variety of projects which will result in some
outstanding television."
