Comedy Heavyweights Align for New HBO Series

LOS ANGELES, October 10: Production has begun in North
Carolina on Eastbound and Down, a new
HBO comedy series starring Danny McBride, who will also serve as executive
producer alongside Will Ferrell, Adam McKay, Chris Henchy, Jody Hill and Ben
Best.

The six-episode series is scheduled to debut on HBO in 2009.
McBride (Tropic Thunder, Pineapple
Express) will play Kenny Powers, a star
pitcher whose self-destructive behavior knocks him out of major league baseball
and back home to North Carolina, where he ends up teaching Phys Ed at the
middle school he once attended. In addition to serving as an executive
producer, Ferrell guest stars in Eastbound and Down as the owner of a local car dealership.
