The Wumblers to Premiere on ¡Sorpresa!

NEW YORK, August 27: The animated preschool series The Wumblers will make its Spanish-language debut in October on ¡Sorpresa!

The English-language series, which premiered on the Christian-themed Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) in September 2007, promotes values like tolerance, diversity and learning other languages. The series airs at 8:30 a.m. Saturdays on TBN and on the network’s Smile of a Child channel during the week. The 26 11-minute episodes of the series feature the Wumblers, which are creatures whose food falls from the sky and whose babies come from watermelons.

Giddy Gander has already started dubbing the series into Spanish with plans to create a Spanish-language DVD in time for the winter holidays. The English-language DVD was launched in July. Daywind manages and distributes The Wumblers DVD and music CD.

“We have a foothold in the inspirational market via Trinity and now in the Spanish-language market via ¡Sorpresa!,” said Heidi Schwartz, the VP of strategic alliances and business development at Giddy Gander Company, whose CEO Laura Wellington created The Wumblers. “As ¡Sorpresa! is an all-kids channel, it made sense to go in that direction.”
