ABC to Air Live David Blaine Special

BURBANK, August 22:
Magician and endurance artist David Blaine will attempt his latest stunt,
hanging upside down as he walks on the underside of a wire, live on a two-hour
prime-time special on ABC.

Beginning the morning of
September 22, Blaine will hang from a wire five stories above Central Park’s
Wollman Rink, using electromagnetic boots to walk on and under the wire for the
more than 60-hour challenge. The part left in secrecy is how he will exit the
death-defying stunt. David Blaine: Dive of Death will air on September 24 at 9 p.m. Viewers can also
join Blaine on a cross-country trip as he makes his way from the east coast to
the Grand Canyon, performing a number of illusions for people along the way.

ABC previously aired David
Blaine: Drowned Alive
, which saw
the illusionist try to break the nearly 9-minute record for breath-holding
under water after having lived in a water-filled acrylic sphere for seven days
and nights.
