SPTI Appoints VP for Brand Partnerships, Channel Development

LONDON, July 21: Kate
Marsh will become the VP of brand partnerships and channel development for Sony
Pictures Television International’s (SPTI) networks division in September.

In this newly created
role, Marsh will focus on the growth of SPTI networks’ new and existing channel
activities. She will be responsible for building brand and content partnerships
with advertisers and for identifying and developing non-subscriber revenue
streams. Working across the company’s portfolio of channels in Europe, the
Middle East and Africa, which includes Sony Entertainment Television, AXN and
Animax brands, Marsh also will develop the creative channel planning process,
in particular advising on localizing international channel brands and their
market positioning. She will report to Ross Hair, the executive VP of
international networks for SPTI.

Marsh joins SPTI from
WPP’s media investment company GroupM, where she has been the director of
entertainment for Europe, the Middle East and Africa since 2006. She had been
responsible for developing content services for the company’s agencies and
advertising clients.

Hair said: “The
appointment of Kate to this strategic position is a pivotal move for our
networks business. Kate’s unique combination of experience in developing
international pay-TV channels and her deep understanding of brand and content
partnerships in a media environment is an important new asset to our business
as we look to diversify our revenue streams.”
