TLC Expands Home-Themed Programming

LOS ANGELES, July 11: TLC will add two new series—Hope For Your Home and Over Designed—to its popular Saturday night home-themed programming block.

Hope For Your Home, which will premiere August 9 at 8:30 p.m., helps homeowners find solutions to their real-life mortgage challenges. Hosted by Kirsten Kemp Becker from TLC’s Property Ladder, the show helps homeowners increase the value of their homes through improvements. They hope then to either refinance their mortgages or sell their properties. The series is produced by Actual Reality with R.J. Cutler as executive producer.

Over Designed, hosted by design expert Kenneth Brown, features people with unique decorating styles. During each episode, Brown helps family and friends turn rooms into inviting and livable spaces. The series is produced by Discovery Studios with Nancy Daniels and Joan O’Conner as executive producers.

Both shows are meant to update property and decorating genres to reflect the changing real-estate market and economy.

Eric Black, the director of programming for TLC, said: “These series are a great complement to our current lineup of home-focused programs. They reflect both the concerns and aspirations of our audience, while building on our brand of relatable, non-scripted programming.”
