New Management Set for Sundance, IFC

NEW YORK, June 20:
Following its recent acquisition of Sundance Channel, Rainbow Media has
appointed a new senior management team for Sundance and IFC, with Evan Shapiro
as the president of both networks.

Shapiro has served as the
executive VP and general manager of IFC since January 2005, with oversight of
the day-to-day operations for the network, including program development,
production, scheduling, marketing and sponsorship. He will report to Ed
Carroll, the president of Rainbow National Entertainment Services.

Laura Michalchyshyn has
been promoted to the role of executive VP and general manager of Sundance
Channel. She previously served as Sundance Channel’s executive VP and general
manager of programming and creative affairs, and was also the senior VP of
dramatic programming for Alliance Atlantis for seven years prior to joining the
network.

Jennifer Caserta will
serve as the executive VP and general manager for IFC, upped from her role as
the channel’s executive VP of marketing, scheduling and alternative platforms.
Prior to IFC, she was the executive VP and general manager of the music network
fuse, and held the role of VP of ad sales marketing for Court TV. Michalchyshyn
and Caserta will report to Shapiro.

Meanwhile, the former
president and CEO of Sundance Channel, Larry Aidem, has been named as the
president of Rainbow Ventures. He will report to Joshua Sapan, the president
and CEO of Rainbow Media, and will focus on identifying strategic business
opportunities for the company. Aidem joined Sundance Channel in 1997, and
previously served as the executive VP of business development for Showtime
Networks, working in tandem with Viacom. Prior to this, he was the VP of
international operations for HBO.
