O’Connor to Head FME’s New Australian Home-Entertainment Unit

LONDON, May 29: FremantleMedia
Enterprises (FME) has appointed Daryl O’Connor as the senior VP of its recently
launched home-entertainment label in Australia.

O’Connor’s key remit will
be to maximize the growth of FME’s new venture throughout Australia and New
Zealand. Additionally, he is charged with acquiring new content for the
home-grown and international markets, pursuing digital download opportunities
and working with the production office in Australia to develop and exploit
content locally for the home-entertainment market.

Before joining FME,
O’Connor ran Warner Vision Australia, a division of Warner Music Australia, for
almost ten years and turned it into the most profitable affiliate among the
Warner Vision group internationally. Previously, O’Connor had spent nine years
at Polygram Video as sales and marketing director.

Pete Kalhan, the senior VP
of home entertainment and archive sales at FME, commented: “Having spent over
20 years within the industry, in senior sales, marketing and management roles,
Daryl brings a wealth of experience and expertise to FME. A seasoned DVD
professional, with extensive knowledge of the Australian home-entertainment
industry, Daryl is a welcome addition to FremantleMedia’s new
home-entertainment undertaking in Australia and New Zealand.”
