Logo, Netflix Ink Promotional Agreement

NEW YORK, May 29: Netflix
and Logo, MTV Networks’ cable channel for lesbian, gay, bisexual and
transgender viewers, have teamed up for a multiplatform content and branding
deal, which gives the online movie rental service exclusive DVD access to a
select number of Logo’s original programs.

The deal launches today
with a multichannel initiative that includes an on-air, online and DVD program.
A number of Logo’s original series will be available for the first time on DVD,
available exclusively at Netflix. Additionally, Logo will be given a section on
the Netflix website.

In turn, Logo will support
the program with on-air promotions highlighting the Netflix collaboration and
will feature Netflix on LOGOonline.com. The companies have also committed to
co-acquiring rights for future titles with the goal of broadcasting on Logo and
releasing on Netflix in tandem. To date, the companies have acquired Puccini

expanding the reach of a broad range of diverse content using multiple channels
to speak to varied audiences,” said Liesl Copland, the head of Netflix’s
original content division. “Through such ventures, we are able to broaden our
scope by becoming a destination for contemporary and relevant material which
grants audiences immediate access to hard-to-find programming through our DVD
and streaming platforms.”

represents an important fusion between the leading creator and curator of
Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) entertainment and the world’s
most prominent online movie rental company, giving the LGBT audience more
access to the very best in films and TV shows,” added Lisa Sherman, the
executive VP and general manager of Logo.
