Nickelodeon Latin America in Co-Pro Deal with Illusion Studios

MIAMI, May 14: Nickelodeon
Latin America has inked an agreement with Illusion Studios to co-produce the
fantasy series La Maga y el Camino Dorado, based on the 1939 classic novel The Wizard of Oz.

La Maga y el Camino
Dorado
will be distributed by Dori
Media Group.

The series centers around
Dorana, played by Argentine actress Florencia Otero, a girl who discovers that
through her imagination, she can travel to the kingdom of Oz. There, she
becomes a heroine, charged with freeing the kingdom from the Wicked Witch,
while at the same time, attempting to find happiness and be with the person she
loves. Using special effects and 3-D animation, each episode will have dual
story lines taking place in both the world of reality and fantasy, woven
together by a common thread.

“The idea to co-produce
this innovative series with Illusion Studios is a clear example of our
commitment to the region,” said Tatiana Rodríguez, the VP of programming and
creative strategy for Nickelodeon Latin America. “Working together with local
businesses and bringing ourselves even closer to our audience is of the utmost
importance to us, and we are certain that La Maga y el Camino Dorado will capture the hearts of our viewers throughout
Latin America.”
