FME Re-Ups Distribution Deal with Fanny Hill Producer

LONDON, April 24: FremantleMedia Enterprises (FME) has renewed its
distribution deal with British outfit Sally Head Productions, which was
responsible for the BBC Four drama Fanny Hill.

Under the three-year agreement, FME will continue to distribute Sally
Head Productions’ projects worldwide, including Tipping The Velvet,
Fingersmith
and Fanny Hill.

Broadcast last fall on BBC Four, Fanny Hill set a
ratings record for the channel by achieving an average of 1.1 million viewers.
It has been licensed into more than ten territories, including Australia,
France and New Zealand. Andrew Davies (Bridget Jones’ Diary) adapted Fanny
Hill
from the erotic novel of the same name by John Cleland. Additionally,
the series’ costume designer, Lucinda Wright, has been nominated for a BAFTA
award for her work.

FME’s CEO, David
Ellender, commented: “Sally Head has been responsible for some of the most
ground-breaking and dynamic drama to appear on television over the past few
years. Programs such as Fanny Hill re-defined the genre and with a host of
exciting productions in the pipeline, FME is more than pleased that our
collaboration remains intact.”
