Globo Unveils New Productions at MIPTV Event

CANNES, April 9: Globo TV
International unveiled a host of new productions at a screenings event in
Cannes yesterday, attended by more than 130 people.

The Brazilian distributor
presented 11 new productions, including telenovelas, comedies, documentaries,
dramas and specials. “We are very pleased with the excellent repercussion of
our productions during the screenings,” said Raphael
Correa Netto, the company’s international sales director. “We brought a
catalogue with varied titles, formats and categories able to reach the most
diverse programming needs, including new media such as Internet and mobile. Our
clients are already familiar with the state-of-the-art quality of our
telenovelas. Now, we are also bringing complementary programming, produced to
the same high quality. We are sure that these new products will achieve great
success in the international market.”

The slate includes the
13-part Globo DOC, the drama
series Antonia and Heavy
Load
, the comedies Normal
People
, The Cleaning Lady, Big Family and Under New Management,
the telenovelas Two Faces, Tropical
Paradise
and Seven Sins and the two-hour special Carnaval in Rio.
