Granada’s Cold Feet Heads to Poland

LONDON, February 19:
Granada International has licensed the format rights to the British drama
series Cold Feet to Polish
broadcaster TVN.

TVN has acquired the
entire series and will be producing its own version as well. The drama, which
airs on ITV1 in the U.K., stars James Nesbitt (Murphy’s Law), Helen Baxendale (Friends), Fay Ripley (Bon Voyage), Hermione Norris (Kingdom), John Thomson (Mobile) and Robert Bathurst (My Dad’s the Prime
Minister
). The series was created
by BAFTA award-winning writer Mike Bullen (Life Begins, Tripping Over).

Nadine
Nohr, the managing director of Granada International, said, “Scripted
formats are an increasingly important part of our business and we’re very
pleased to conclude this extensive deal with TVN. Cold Feet was a massive hit here in the U.K. and it will be
exciting to see this success replicated in Poland.”

Dariusz Gasiorowski, the
director of the drama production unit at TVN Poland, commented, “Cold Feet really appeals to us as a very smart, long-running
piece of television drama. We strongly believe the compelling characters and
storylines that combine high drama and full-on comedy will make it a winner
with Polish audiences.”
