Classic Media Names VP, Licensing for North America

NEW YORK, October 31:
Karyn Schneider, a former executive at United Media, has been tapped to serve
as the VP of licensing for Classic Media’s North American operations, effective
immediately.

Based in New York and
reporting to the company’s senior VP of marketing, Nicole Blake, Schneider will
oversee consumer products for the combined Classic Media/Entertainment Rights
portfolio of family entertainment brands, including Where’s Waldo?, Casper
the Friendly Ghost, George of the Jungle, Little Golden Books, Santa Claus is
Comin' to Town, Lassie, Rupert Bear
and
Gumby
. Additionally, she will be
charged with building the New York-based team, as well as supporting existing
relationships with the company’s licensees, which include Brainytoys Limited,
Galison/Mudpuppy Press, Briarpatch, American Greetings, Fortune Fashions,
Logotel, MJC Products and Dark Horse.

Kim Anthony Jones, who was
recently promoted to licensing manager, will report directly to Schneider.

Prior to joining Classic
Media, Schneider was the executive director of licensing for United Media,
where she developed and executed licensing programs for apparel, accessories,
domestics, infants, toys, craft and hobby areas for properties including Peanuts, Precious Moments, Dilbert, Fancy Nancy and El
Chavo,
among others.

track record in cultivating strategic partnerships and developing first-class
licensing programs," said Blake. "She will be instrumental in
maximizing the brand experience of our iconic properties. We are excited to have
her join the team."
