Production Begins on Third Season of Southern Star Teen Drama

SYDNEY, October
23: ABC TV and Southern Star Entertainment have begun production on a third
season of the 26-part teen drama series Blue Water High, shot on location on the northern
beaches of Sydney, Australia.

Blue Water
High
follows six
16-year olds who have been selected for a 12-month residential surfing and
schooling program at Solar Blue Surf Academy to compete for the wild card to
get onto the world pro-surfing circuit. The series stars Kate Bell, who returns
as Bec, and Craig Horner (H20, Two Twisted), who plays Garry. The new pupils to the academy
include Guy (Kain O’Keefe), Charley (Lachlan Buchanan), Adam (Eka Darville),
Bridget (Cariba Heine), Lauren (Amy Beckwith) and Cassie (Rebecca Breeds).

Southern Star’s
executive producer, Noel Price, commented: “We weren't expecting to do a third
[season] of Blue Water High but the huge demand for it both locally and internationally has been
impossible to resist. While the new season will maintain many of the
fundamentals of previous series, we are using the opportunity to introduce some
fresh elements and different story telling techniques which we hope our very
enthusiastic audience will find as engaging and entertaining as ever."
