FRANKFURT, October 15: lettra, a TV channel dedicated to
books and reading, is set to launch on the new Premiere Star bouquet effective
November 24.

Aimed at booklovers of all kinds, the channel will look at

books. At its core will be a two-hour live show, airing Monday to Friday, with
guests and clips. The rest of the schedule will include magazine-style shows,
documentaries, interviews and other genres focused on the world of literature.

Wolfram Winter, the managing director of Premiere Star,
noted: “The world of reading will be presented in a unique, zestful and

Premiere Star is the platform for all
special-interest groups.”

Carsten Meincke, the managing director and editor-in-chief
of lettra, added: “We present books and reading without talking down to our
audience. We’re well educated, entertaining, witty and we know our subject
matter. Our look reflects the creativity and variety of the world of books
because we want our program to appeal to booklovers from all walks of
life."

lettra will be distributed via satellite in Premiere Star’s
subscription bouquet and on the pay-TV platforms of various cable and IPTV
hosts. Up to 500,000 subscribers will be able to receive lettra by the end of
