Croatia’s Nova TV, SPTI Secure Multiyear Content Deal

LONDON,
September 5: In a multiyear deal, Sony Pictures Television International
(SPTI) has licensed a selection of new and library feature films and series to
Croatian broadcaster Nova TV.

Nova TV, owned by Central European Media Enterprises, has
picked up popular library films such as Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2 starring Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst, The
Legend of Zorro
starring Antonio Banderas
and Catherine Zeta-Jones and XXX: State of the Union starring Willem Dafoe.

The Croatian broadcaster has also acquired a raft of new
series from SPTI including The Tudors,
the drama about the life and wives of King Henry VIII, starring Jonathan Rhys
Meyers and Natalie Dormer. Also part of the agreement are a number of new U.S.
network and cable series, including Damages starring Glenn Close, Viva Laughlin with Lloyd Owen, Canterbury’s Law featuring Julianna Margulies and Cashmere
Mafia
starring Lucy Liu. Additionally, the
deal includes popular television series such as Seinfeld, the British series Hex and the daytime soap Days of Our Lives.

Drazen
Mavric, the general director of Nova TV, commented: “This agreement is a major boost
for Nova TV in terms of further strengthening our schedule.”
