Distraction to Highlight New Formats for MIPTV

LONDON, April 10: Distraction has announced a raft of new
formats for MIPTV, including the prime-time entertainment series Star
Attraction,
the game show Guess
Who?
and the scripted comedy Serial
Frank.

Star Attraction, which
was originally broadcast on Société Radio-Canada (SRC), features three
personalities from different backgrounds that are transformed into singers. The
weekly magazine format How Clean is Your Planet? from Marc St-Onge, the creator of Eco-House:
The Challenge,
explores the variety of
actions consumers can take to slow the effects of climate change. Game show
formats highlighted at MIPTV include Skeletons In The Closet (Des Squelettes Dans Le Placard) which has been broadcast for two seasons on
Canada’s SRC; Guess Who?, in
which five participants must guess the identity of a hidden personality; and Fakest
Home Videos,
where contestants on the show
must guess which blooper clip is the fake one.

Ready-to-air formats available from Distraction at MIPTV
include three series from the Sex and Celebrity documentary strand: Star Culture, a documentary series on the cult of celebrities that previously aired
on Canal D in French Canada; XXX Culture, a series about the porn industry which also aired on Canal D; and the
new documentary Bimbo. Distraction
will also offer The Travel Mag, an
adventure travel series that was originally broadcast on CTV in Canada, and the
scripted comedic series Serial Frank (Frank en Series), that
examines the inner life of a 20-something guy named Frank. From its own
library, Distraction will make Distraction Gags and its candid camera format package Gotcha
Girls
available at MIPTV as well.

Michel Rodrigue, the CEO of Distraction, commented:
“2006/2007 has been a good year for Distraction and this is certainly reflected
in our slate for MIPTV, which combines Scripted, Entertainment, Game shows and
Library. I am proud to say that our programs include six Canadian and four
American concepts, none of which have been seen in the marketplace before. We
have worked hard to find product that will satisfy our clients needs and are
confident that these new formats and ready to air series will hit the mark.”
