TORONTO/LONDON, March 13: Cookie Jar Entertainment has
licensed its hit preschool series The Doodlebops to GMTV in the U.K.

The show will air on Saturdays at 6 a.m. on GMTV1 beginning
April 7. A weekday launch on GMTV2 is planned for this summer. Announcing the
deal, Cookie Jar’s VP of distribution in the U.K., Alison Warner, noted: “GMTV
is a well-established network and the ideal U.K. broadcast home for The
Doodlebops
. GMTV has demonstrated a
commitment to the series and we look forward to a long relationship with them.”

Peter McHugh, GMTV’s director of programs, added: “It has
been quite impressive watching the show become a global, pop-culture phenomena
in such a short period of time. Now this musical trio is about to take its
place on GMTV, and we couldn’t be more thrilled.”

The show has been previously licensed to broadcasters
including CBC; Playhouse Disney in the U.S.; Disney channels in Australia,
Italy and Latin America, among others; and Nickelodeon France. In the U.K. it
currently airs on Playhouse Disney.
