Tiscali TV Launched Today

LONDON, March 1: Following the acquisition of the Homechoice
IPTV service, the Italy- and U.K.-based broadband, telephone and media company
Tiscali has launched its new broadband and TV package, Tiscali TV, today in
London and Stevenage, featuring, among others, adult channels from Playboy TV
U.K.

Over 40,000 Homechoice subscribers will immediately become
Tiscali TV customers and can purchase the package of broadband plus TV for
£14.99. The Tiscali TV pack offers consumers over 30 digital TV channels
including all of the free digital channels from the BBC, Channel 4, Five and
ITV, including E4, BBC Three, Five US and ITV2.

While Tiscali TV is currently only available in London and
Stevenage it will soon be available in Birmingham, Edinburgh and Newcastle
during April and May, and in areas of Leeds, Sheffield and Liverpool by
mid-year. By the end of this year, Tiscali TV will be available to over 10
million U.K. homes, with rollout expected to continue through 2008. The TV
service is expected to be available to Tiscali’s entire unbundled local loop
network by the end of 2008.

For launch, Tiscali TV has secured deals with Channel 4’s
Film4 On Demand and 4oD to offer their on demand content to subscribers,
including 4oD content such as Grand Designs,
Shameless, You Are What
You Eat
and Black Books as part of Tiscali TV’s “Big Pack” subscription.
Costing 99p an episode, 4oD U.S. series such as Lost, Desperate Housewives and Ugly Betty will be available on a pay-per-view basis. Tiscali TV has also added
Channel 4 content to its ‘Replay or Catch-up’ service, which allows subscribers
to watch selected Channel 4 content up to seven days after broadcast for free.

In addition, Tiscali TV has signed a deal with Playboy TV
U.K. to offer a selection of its adult channels, marking the first time that
Playboy TV channels have been delivered via IPTV in the U.K. The service will
feature Playboy TV, Adult Channel, Spice Extreme and trade.tv, with all adult
channels available for a nightly subscription that can be purchased via the
remote, or a monthly subscription purchased via the Tiscali website or Customer
Care.

Tiscali TV’s first original commissioned content will also
go live on the award-winning preschool channel Scamp, which is hosted by two
puppets named Lizzie and Louis who use English and French to teach viewers
numeracy and literacy. The original content will eventually have its own zone
within Scamp so parents can search out the educational content on demand to
watch with their children.
