Nick Preps Animated Series from SNL Star, New SpongeBob Season

LOS ANGELES, December 12: Nickelodeon has given the
greenlight to Mighty B, a new animated
series created and voiced by Saturday Night Live star Amy Poehler, and has announced production on a
sixth season of SpongeBob SquarePants for the 2007/2008 season.

The new season of SpongeBob brings that show beyond the 100-episode mark. New episodes have also
been ordered for El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera and Tak and the Power of Juju.

Mighty B, SpongeBob
SquarePants
, El Tigre and Tak and the Power of Juju are Nicktoons Productions and are produced at the
Nicktoons Studios in Burbank, CA.

Mighty B, picked up
for 20 episodes, focuses on Bessie Higgenbottom, an ambitious and lovably
unhinged 10-year-old "Honeybee" scout. It will premiere in 2008. Tom
Ascheim, the EVP and GM of Nickelodeon Television, said in announcing the new
series from Poehler: "Mighty B
is a quintessential Nicktoon. It comes from the incredible comedic minds of Amy
Poehler, Cynthia True and Erik Wiese, and is a fresh, creator-driven series
about a hilarious character Amy created that we think kids are going to really
love and connect with.”
