RHI’s Twist on Oz to Launch on SCI FI in December 2007

NEW YORK, November 28: RHI
Entertainment is set to begin production early next year on the six-hour mini-series
Tin Man, billed as a science-fiction
take on The Wizard of Oz, for a
December 2007 premiere on the SCI FI Channel.

The mini-series is written by
Steven Long Mitchell and Craig Van Sickle, the creators of The Pretender. Casting is currently under way on Tin Man, which will be shot in Vancouver. It tells the story
of a young woman named DG who is thrust into “The Outer Zone” (the O.Z.), where
she sets out on the Old Road to find a wizard known as the Mystic Man. Along
the way, she is joined by Glitch, an odd man missing half his brain; Raw, a
wolverine-like creature longing for inner courage; and Cain, a heroic former
policeman (known in the O.Z. as Tin Men) seeking vengeance for his scarred
heart. Her quest leads her into a showdown with the wicked sorceress
Azkadellia.

SCI FI previously collaborated
with RHI Entertainment for the hit 2004 mini-series Legend of Earthsea. RHI is also set to deliver 10 original movies to
SCI FI for broadcast in 2007.
