New Acquisitions for Sundance

NEW YORK, October 9: Sundance Channel in the U.S. has picked
up the acclaimed Australian series John Safran vs. God as well as a second season of the U.K.’s Ladette
to Lady
.

Sundance took the exclusive U.S. TV rights to Craig Melville’s
John Safran vs. God, which, over the
course of eight one-hour episodes, follows documentary filmmaker Safran as he
presents his unique take on religion. Acquired from SBS Television in
Australia, the show is slated for a 2007 launch.

“John Safran’s daring and thought-provoking take on
religious institutions is a great fit for the Sundance Channel audience,”
commented Laura Michalchyshyn, the executive VP of programming and marketing.
“He tests the boundaries of religion with intelligence and humor, and the
results are incredibly entertaining.”

Also for 2007 is a second season of the British makeover
series Ladette to Lady from RDF Media.
