Shonda Rhimes Named MIPCOM 2016 Personality of the Year

PARIS: Shonda Rhimes, whose TV credits include such hits as Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal, is being honored as the MIPCOM 2016 Personality of the Year.

Rhimes will be honored at a gala dinner at the Carlton Hotel in Cannes on October 19 during MIPCOM. She will also be featured at a Media Mastermind Session in the Grand Auditorium of the Palais des Festivals.

“Shonda Rhimes is an inspiring voice, a global creative icon and a role model in the industry,” said Paul Zilk, CEO of Reed MIDEM, organizer of MIPCOM. “In recognition of her outstanding influence on the entertainment industry, we are honored to welcome her to Cannes as the MIPCOM 2016 Personality of the Year.”
