CULVER CITY: The online entertainment network Crackle is to launch a collection of horror films, Kill Count, featuring more than 300 of the most creative on-screen "kills," ahead of Halloween.

Starting October 19, Crackle will launch a 13-day stunt that allows users to watch, rate and discuss their favorite "kills" on Crackle. Users can also interact with the Kill Count collection via Facebook through an online sweepstakes, 13 Severed Heads in 13 Days. Each day of the event, a trivia question about a given Kill Count movie will be posed to users. One participant per day who answers correctly will be chosen at random to receive a severed-head prop. Among the titles featured will be Bram Stoker’s Dracula, The Grudge 3, I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer, Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, the 1990’s version of Night of the Living Dead and Pumpkinhead 4: Blood Feud.

“Crackle is excited to feature another unique program for our viewers just in time for Halloween,” said Lisa Dubbe-Herbert, the VP of programming for Crackle. “With such gruesome offerings as Silent Hill and Vacancy, our audience will be screaming for more.”

“Our hope is that Kill Count will not only excite our current fans but will also intrigue new audiences to come experience Crackle,” added Mark Cregar, the VP of marketing for Crackle. Kill Count will feature more ‘kills’ than any other Halloween collection and we are excited to get audiences counting.”
