The hour-long doc special will celebrate the innovations of Apple’s co-founder and CEO. It will also feature journalists, authors and critics, including NBC Correspondent Tom Brokaw, Joe Nocera (New York Times), cultural critic Toure, Bill Werde (Billboard) and Andrew Serwer (Fortune), who have covered Jobs and his innovations. Further interviews to be featured include scientists and educators such as theoretical physicist Dr. Michio Kaku, and musicians, filmmakers and designers whose businesses have been revolutionized by Jobs’ work, including Steve Wonder, Pete Wentz and lesser-known artists who credit innovations such as iTunes with boosting their careers. Save and Hyneman, who host Discovery Channel’s Mythbusters, front the special.

Following its world premiere on Discovery Channel in the U.S., iGenius: How Steve Jobs Changed the World will roll out across Discovery’s international portfolio of networks in 210 countries worldwide. The special is produced for Discovery by NBC’s Peacock Productions.

Savage commented, "Someone once said that to follow the path that others have laid before you is a very reasonable course of action, therefore all progress is made by unreasonable men." He continued, "Steve Jobs was an unreasonable man. He didn’t simply give the public what they wanted, he defined entirely new ways of thinking about our lives in the digital space: productivity, creativity, music, communication, media and art. He has touched, directly and indirectly, all of our lives."
