Breakthrough Unveils Online Game, Cooking Show

TORONTO: David Rocco’s Amalfi Getaway is a new cooking show from the collaboration between David Rocco’s Rockhead Entertainment and Breakthrough Entertainment, the latter of which has also unveiled an online game for the TVOKids website.  

David Rocco’s Amalfi Getaway is set for the spring 2012 schedule of Cooking Channel, to be launched in late 2012 on Food Network Canada as well. The show was produced entirely on location in the Amalfi Coast. It shows the chef and author as he explores the culinary secrets of the region. 

“I often joke, I’m not a trained chef—I’m Italian,” said Rocco. Cooking and eating are in my DNA and Italy has been my cooking school since I was a boy. When I feel the need for inspiration, I always like to return to the source. This is why David Rocco’s Amalfi Getaway is so special for me—and I know will be special for viewers worldwide who understand that the secret to cooking success lies in simplicity. Breakthrough is also behind the new online game Think Big Invention Machine, geared toward kids 6 to 9. The game contains 16 levels based on a science curriculum, designed to challenge kids to build and manipulate different objects and pathways in order to solve a series of problems. The game is a tie in for Breakthrough’s popular Think Big series. 

“The Think Big Invention Machine empowers kids to learn about science while still having fun. It was designed to appeal to both the curious science student looking to test themselves and the more casual player who just wants to have fun,” said Dorothy Vreeker, the director of digital media at Breakthrough
