LONDON, October 4: The CBeebies preschool series Driver Dan’s Story Train, produced by 3Line Media in association with Blink Studios and twofour54 Abu Dhabi, heads into its second season of 50 new episodes on November 7.

The series premiered in the U.K. in January 2010. International broadcasters currently airing Driver Dan’s Story Train include Sprout in the U.S., where Pat Monahan, the lead singer of the rock band Train, is the voice of Driver Dan. In Australia, the show airs on ABC TV and the Arabic version airs on Baraem, JCC’s pan-regional preschool channel.

Representing twofour54, which is presenting the show to buyers at MIPCOM this week, Jane Smith, the general manager of Ibtikar Commercial, said, “We are delighted with the success of the series to date and that this will continue through our partnership with CBeebies. Driver Dan is proving a hit with the preschool audience as they enjoy the world of imaginative story-play. Our commercial rollout continues to build with a great range of high-quality toys from Golden Bear supporting our existing publishing range from Macmillan.”

Estelle Hughes, the executive producer and managing director of 3Line Media said; “The popularity of the series has been so rewarding for our creative team and we were all thrilled when a second series was commissioned.  With storytelling at its core, the series uses a creative re-invention of traditional storytelling to bring imaginative, interactive and fun story-play to life for young children.”
