SILVER SPRING: SCIENCE has slated the new factual series JUNKies and Stuck with Hackett to debut on August 18.

Jimmy Ruocco, the “Junk Genius,” hosts JUNKies, which schools viewers on finding spare parts in Long Island’s Freeport Junk and Wrecking to construct inventions, including a hovercraft, a coffin car, a lawn mower racer and a flamethrower.

Stuck with Hackett is hosted by the “alternative engineer” and survival expert Chris Hackett. He is left in extreme environments with nothing other than his own ideas to create luxuries, such as an air-conditioner fashioned out of spare airplane parts.

“SCIENCE is the home for the ‘thought provocateur,’ and no two characters personify this title more than Hackett and Jimmy,” said Debbie Adler Myers, the general manager and executive VP of SCIENCE. “Every adventure turns a trash heap into a treasure hunt, and their out-of-this-world creativity is what makes these two truly unique characters must-see television. We cannot wait to share their distinct brands of ‘junkyard genius’ with the world."

JUNKies is produced by Leftfield Pictures and Stuck with Hackett is produced by Silver Machine.
