M6 Releases First-Half Results

NEUILLY: Revenues for the first half of the year at M6 fell 3 percent to 719.7 million euros, of which 356.5 million euros was derived from advertising on the M6 channel.

Ad revenues on M6 were up 5.3 percent on the same period in 2010. Other ad revenues were up 10.5 percent to 76.6 million euros. Group ad revenues grew 6.2 percent to 433.1 million euros. Non-advertising revenues for the group dropped 14.3 percent to 286.7 million euros, due to the decrease in revenues from the Girondins de Bordeaux football club (F.C.G.B.). Revenue from the F.C.G.B. plummeted 40.3 percent, as the club failed to qualify for the Champion’s League. Excluding F.C.G.B., revenue from M6’s diversified business fell 9.1 percent.

Consolidated profit was up 10.9 percent to 146.9 million euros. Net profit at the French broadcasting group was up 8.4 percent to 91.5 million euros.
