Discovery Signs 3D Deals in U.K. & Japan

SILVER SPRING: Marking its first-ever 3D deals outside of the U.S., Discovery Networks International (DNI) has signed agreements with BSkyB and Virgin Media in the U.K. and J:COM in Japan for a range of 3D content.

The deal with BSkyB and Virgin Media includes a number of Discovery Networks U.K. 3D commissions, including 3D Safari, from Renegade Productions, and Beautiful Freaks with Nick Baker, being filmed with tigress Productions in Namibia. From 3net comes High Octane, a 10×1-hour show about extreme sports.

In Japan, Discovery Channel’s Ghost Lab and Animal Planet’s The Haunted will be available to watch in 3D on the J:COM on Demand service.
