Paris to Host Science World Congress

TORONTO: The 2011 World Congress of Science and Factual Producers (WCSFP) is set to host this year’s 19th annual event in Paris, France, to be held November 29 to December 2.

The event is expecting some 600 international broadcasters, producers and distributors from more than 25 countries. The 2010 event sold out in Dresden, Germany, as did 2009’s in Melbourne, Australia.

France Télévisions is the host broadcaster for this year’s edition. The four-day program features workshops, networking events and panels. The WCSFP will also feature commissioning editor speed dating and updates from broadcasters, distributors and funders; an on-demand video library of delegates’ productions; and other social activities.

The 19th annual Congress is managed by Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival on behalf of the WCSFP.
