ProSiebenSat.1 & Kabel Deutschland Sign Long-Term HD, VOD Deal

MUNICH: The ProSiebenSat.1 Group has signed a long-term contract with Germany’s largest cable operator, Kabel Deutschland (KD), for the distribution of its free- and pay-TV, HD and VOD content.

KD customers will gain access to ProSiebenSat.1 Group’s HD channels for the first time starting in October. Also headed to KD is an extensive ProSiebenSat.1 VOD portal, allowing viewers another way to download video content. KD’s "Select Video" VOD service launched in March, and is available to 2.3 million households using KD.

The agreement also covers the long-term distribution of the group’s free-TV channels and two pay-TV services—Sat.1 Comedy and kabel eins CLASSICS. sixx will become available on KD’s analogue network, expanding its reach to more than 25 million.
