Pointless Gets BBC One Slot

LONDON: The game show Pointless, from Endemol’s Remarkable Television, is moving from BBC Two to BBC One starting next month.

The show will debut on BBC One in July, kicking off its run with five episodes of Pointless Celebrities, which sees well-known faces from the world of entertainment, sports and comedy attempt to come up with obscure answers that no one else can think of. Alexander Armstrong serves as host, with Richard Osman as fact-keeper. The highest-rated episode in the history of Pointless was, in fact, a celebrity edition that aired on BBC Two in December 2010.

Tom Blakeson, the head of entertainment formats for Remarkable Television, said: “The team here at Remarkable have loved making Pointless for BBC Two and we’re thrilled to have developed a loyal fan base to join us in our new home. Pointless is a thoroughly entertaining format, it not only challenges viewers to test the depths of their knowledge, but has them laughing out loud with funny banter from our hosts and contestants. This is a tremendously exciting move for Pointless and I’m sure BBC One viewers will love the show.”
