DISH Customers Get Free Trial of Blockbuster By Mail

ENGLEWOOD: DISH Network is offering its new customers three months of the Blockbuster By Mail service for free, following on its recent acquisition of the home-entertainment rental chain.

New customers to the DISH service who activate qualifying programming through August 10, 2011, will receive three free months of Blockbuster By Mail, which offers more than 100,000 movies, TV shows and games through the mail. The service promises new titles 28 days before Netflix or redbox, with customers also able to exchange items instantly at participating neighborhood Blockbuster stores.

"We are pleased to introduce a DISH Network promotion with Blockbuster," said Ira Bahr, the chief marketing officer for DISH Network. "DISH Network now offers more than twice as many movie choices as any other TV provider. If you love movies, you’re going to love DISH Network."

DISH Network purchased the assets of the bankrupt home-entertainment rental chain Blockbuster for $320 million in April.
