TORONTO: The web series Apollo’s Pad has been snapped up by TELETOON Canada, with eight episodes of the puppet-based TV comedy to air on TELETOON at Night.

Apollo’s Pad, which premiered on TELETOON on April 10, centers on a neighborhood dive bar and its owner, Apollo, who serves drinks and interacts with a motley crew of characters. The show was created by Len Dunne and Stephen Green and developed by Jason Hopley. The show is executive produced by Dunne and Jack Lenz.

Lenz, the executive producer and president of Lenz Entertainment, said: “Guided by the creative trails blazed previously by shows like South Park and Family Guy, Apollo’s Pad pushes the boundaries of comedy to its limits. We are thrilled that this property has migrated from web to on air.”

Alan Gregg, the director of original content for TELETOON Canada, added: “TELETOON at Night is the perfect home for the strange, seedy world of Apollo’s Pad. It’s irreverent and anarchic. Featuring the talent of some of Canada’s top puppeteers, Apollo’s Pad is definitely not where the Muppets go for pints after work.”
