ESPN STAR Sports Names VP of Ops. & Tech

SINGAPORE: Colin Sherriff is taking on the role of VP of operations and technology at ESPN STAR Sports, effective immediately.

Sherriff will oversee ESPN STAR Sports’ region-wide operations and technology matters related to its TV and broadband networks. He heads up the teams responsible for engineering, transmission, studio operations, satellite operations, editing, commercial traffic, facilities and media content operations. Sherriff reports directly to Manu Sawhney, the managing director ESPN STAR Sports.

Sawhney commented of the appointment: “Colin will be instrumental in developing the infrastructure for us to enter a new phase of expansion as we deploy various new media initiatives to serve sports fans across Asia. Having successfully installed Project Homerun, keeping ourselves ahead of the game with regards to our broadcast technology and operations continues to be one of our key areas of focus, and we are now looking at new opportunities to further improve our systems and processes. We are extremely pleased to have someone with Sherriff’s solid experience, and look forward to leverage on his many proven skill-sets to continue ESPN STAR Sports’ success across the region.”
