Korean Treatment for Benidorm Bastards

MUNICH: SevenOne Internatinal’s hit format Benidorm Bastards is headed to Korea on tvN, set for a December 4 debut.

The show will air under the local title JeulGeoUn In Seng, which translates to Happy Life or Enjoy Your Life. It will air weekly on Saturdays.

Benidorm Bastards originated in Belgium, where it exceeded the broadcaster’s average by up to 284 percent. In the Netherlands, the first international adaptation of the series outperforms RTL 4’s channel average by up to 250 percent. The show has already been sold to more than 20 countries, including France, Spain, Germany, Greece, Israel, throughout the Middle East and Scandinavia.

Yan He, the regional sales director at SevenOne International, said: “Benidorm Bastards [is] taking the world by storm! It’s a hilarious show with universal humor and I am sure South Koreans will love the show!”

Jin Park, the director of international acquisitions at CJ Media, added: “I believe Benidorm Bastards will be successful in Korea as it is quite different from other hidden-camera shows in terms of settings and unusualness.
