SÃO PAULO: Globo TV International’s documentary strand GloboDOC heads to China for a 13-episode on the SAGA event block, owned by the LIC Group.

The documentary series showcases the Brazilian flora and fauna. The first titles to be aired are The Amazon and Wild Life in Amazonia, both as 50-minute programs. The SAGA time slot is currently present on 80 channels covering 92 percent of China, with 470 million viewers.

"The sale of our documentary catalogue to a segmented channel leaves us very satisfied," said Raphael Correa Netto, the head of international sales at Globo TV International. "The big difference of GloboDOC is the Brazilian viewpoint. The documentaries portray the facts of Brazil, the way of life, the culture, Brazilian locations, the personalities—and their role in the national and international society—from the viewpoint of those who deeply understands all the characteristics that involve each situation. It is the face of Brazil seen and shown by Brazilians.”
