Telefe International Boosts Format Business in Russia

BUENOS AIRES: Telefe International is continuing to build its business in Russia, with production already begun on the local adaptation of The Successful Mr. and Mrs. Pells for CTC.

The production of CTC and Kostafilm will be called Novosti and is slated for a 2011 launch in prime time. It tells the story of news anchor Gleb Chernov. The original Argentine version of the show has been sold to more than 20 markets, while adaptations have been done in Chile, Mexico, Spain, Peru, Turkey and Ecuador. Local editions are being developed for Poland, China, Greece and the U.S.

There are two other Telefe International formats in play in Russia: Final Minute is being produced by 2-V for launch on REN TV as Poslednyaya Minuta, and Turning Points is under development for a leading broadcaster.
