The Penguins of Madagascar Continues International Sales

CANNES/LONDON/NEW YORK: MTV Networks International (MTVNI) has signed up a number of new international broadcast partners for the CG animated comedy The Penguins of Madagascar from Nickelodeon and DreamWorks Animation.

More than 40 program deals have been closed, including sales to markets such as China (SMG Best TV), Brazil (Globosat), France (TF1), Italy (Mediaset), Hong Kong (TVB), Mexico (Televisa), the Middle East (E-Vizion), New Zealand (TVNZ), Portugal (SIC), Russia (TNT), Spain (TV3 Catalunya) and the U.K. (GMTV). The series features the characters from the Madagascar theatrical movie in all-new adventures.

The Penguins of Madagascar is the result of a fruitful and long-term partnership between Nickelodeon and DreamWorks Animation, two of the world’s most prolific producers of high-quality television and feature-film animation,” commented Steve Grieder, the executive VP of Nickelodeon and program sales at MTVNI. “As the most-watched premiere ever in Nickelodeon history, we knew immediately that we had a hit show on our hands and I’m really thrilled to be extending the magic, through our international broadcast partners, to kids and animation lovers everywhere around the world.”
