Cineflix Sells Conviction Kitchen, My Monkey Baby

LONDON: Cineflix International has secured a new batch of deals for two of the most recent additions to its catalogue, Conviction Kitchen and My Monkey Baby.

Conviction Kitchen, a Cineflix production in association with City TV in Canada, features executive chef Marc Thuet and his wife and business partner, Biana Zorich, as they train a staff of former convicts to build out a restaurant business. In Scandinavia, TV4 Sweden and TV2 Norway have taken eight hour-long episodes, along with SBS in the Netherlands and M6 of France. Planet Green in the U.S. and Turner Broadcasting System in Latin America who have both licensed the show for their respective territories. Options have been secured for a local format by broadcasters in Australia, Norway and Spain.

The hour-long documentary My Monkey Baby, produced by Glasshead Productions for Channel 4, looks into the real-lives of people parenting monkeys in the U.S. The show has been sold to 10 broadcasters since fall, with a number of other deals in negotiation. Vox in Germany, M6 in France and TVI Portugal have all taken on the show, along with Scandinavian broadcasters Channel Four in Finland, TV Norge in Norway and Kanal 5 AB in Sweden, as well as DBS Israel. North American deals were scored with Discovery’s TLC and Astral Media in Canada. In New Zealand, TV3 took on the rights to air the show.
