Cookie Jar Expands to South Korea

TORONTO: Cookie Jar Entertainment has set up an office in South Korea, with CJ Lee to serve as VP of distribution to handle television sales and develop licensing programs. 

Lee will focus on production and development opportunities in South Korea and throughout Asia. Through CPLG, Cookie Jar’s licensing division, Lee will oversee licensing and merchandise programs for a wide range of properties and expand CPLG’s portfolio by sourcing new third-party brands. Lee most recently served as managing director and consultant for GIMC, where he oversaw international co-productions and served as a creative producer. Previously, he held the position of Managing Director and co-owner of Starburst Animation Company. Lee will report to Hideki Kunugiyama, the managing director of CPLG for Asia Pacific.

In further company news, Cookie Jar has tapped GNKids and Teens to handle the online advertising for Jaroo.com, its new streaming video portal for kids. The global sales team for GNKids and Teens will provide full-service solutions with content-appropriate on-page and online video advertising streams across the hundreds of episodes available on demand on Jaroo.com.
