NGCI Takes Beyond’s Best Job in the World

WASHINGTON, D.C.: As part of a deal signed between the Tourism Queensland and Beyond Productions, the new six-part documentary Best Job in the World will be broadcast by National Geographic Channels International (NGCI).

NGCI has acquired the international cable television rights to the series, which features 34-year-old Briton Ben Southall, who beat out more than 34,000 applicants from around the world to be named as Tourism Queensland’s island caretaker. Beyond Productions is following Southall’s six-month stint. NGCI will take the series to more than 315 million homes in 165 countries and 34 languages.

“The series will be an excellent blend of once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, adventure travelogue and natural history showcase that our audience is sure to appreciate,” said Sydney Suissa, the executive VP of content for NGCI.
