Cougar Town Sells Across EMEA

CANNES: The new half-hour ABC Studios comedy series Cougar Town, starring Friends alum Courteney Cox, has been picked up in a further seven territories across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

In addition to an agreement with LIVING in the U.K., the half-hour comedy has been sold by Disney-ABC-ESPN Television to Digiturk in Turkey, M-Net in Africa, Fox International Channels for Greece and Russia, RTE in Ireland, Orbit Showtime in the Middle East and TV Norge in Norway. The series is written, produced and directed by Bill Lawrence (Scrubs).

Stephen Moore, the executive VP and managing director of Disney-ABC-ESPN Television, commented: “Cougar Town’s star cast, combined with the stellar writing of Bill Lawrence make this show a strong proposition and the sales success it has enjoyed to date is unsurprising. The international appeal of Courteney Cox reaches a wide audience, helping to make the show a priority choice.”
